As baptized Catholics, we are called to mission. Maryknoll Lay Missioners (MKLM) offers U.S. Catholics the opportunity to respond to that call by serving the poor in Africa, Asia, or Latin America for 3 ½ years or longer.

Through MKLM you can give back using the skills and gifts with which you have been blessed, and work for sustainable changes in an overseas community, in our global church and in yourself.

 

WHERE YOU CAN SERVE

MKLM currently serves in the following countries:

- Asia: Cambodia
- Africa: Kenya, Tanzania
- Latin America: Bolivia, Brazil, El Salvador

 

WHAT YOU CAN DO

MKLM currently serves in the following types of ministries:

- Healthcare and Health Promotion
- Education and Leadership Training
- Sustainable Development
- Justice & Peace
- Pastoral Care

Maryknoll lay Missioners has more than 35 years of experience in training and supporting missioners in Africa, Asia, and Latin America and is rooted in the rich tradition of Catholic social teaching.

- Work with communities to challenge unjust structures that perpetuate marginalization
- Are transformed through the course of our work and our relationships with people who have been oppressed
