Always A Missioner
Maryknoll Lay Missioners has a saying “Once a Missioner, Always a Missioner – Once a Maryknoller, Always a Maryknoller.” As you know,your commitment as a missioner doesn’t end when you finish your contracted time with the MKLM, nor does your relationship with Maryknoll Lay Missioners. Hopefully they continue for life! The time you spent in overseas mission will most likely continue to influence and enrich your life far into the future. In keeping connected with Maryknoll Lay Missioners you'll have new opportunities to share what you experienced in mission and get to know new people who join us in the journey.
There are many ways to stay connected and build on your time with Maryknoll Lay Missioners. You can participate in a Class Gathering that allows you to reconnect with those who walked the initial steps with you, or speak at a recruiting event in your area, or give a parish mission talk. You may also enjoy getting together with other Returned Missioners in your area, as well as referring friends to MKLM. These are just a few of the ways that Returned Missioners can build upon their Maryknoll Lay Missioner experience and help build up MKLM.
We are in the process of building this Returned Missioners network on the MKLM website. It is our sincere hope that it will be of interest and benefit to MKLM Returned Missioners. From learning about tuition assistance programs at participating graduate schools, and helping you identify jobs/ministries in your area, to convoking
gatherings of Returned Missioners - you'll find information here about the many ways MKLM is dedicated to helping you make a smooth transition back to life in the States and continuing the relationship through the years.
